Gathering of Balkan Kings

The Radical Royalist reports on the recent gathering of the former crowned heads of the Balkan monarchies. As you can see, on hand were HM King Simeon II of Bulgaria, HRH Crown Prince Alexander of Serbia, HM King Michael I of Romania and HM King Constantine II of Greece. Other royal and religious leaders joined them later, follow the link for all the details. I love it when monarchs get together.

  1. You know what would be better than this? If it was to announce that they had been Restored. It is a true Pity we lost the opportunity to do just that at the end of the Cold War and collapse of the Soviet Union.

  2. True, and in the case of most of them this was a result of local politics, the fact that the commies had not *really* gone away and roadblocking by the Clinton administration. The Soviet-backed regimes were imposed, they were never legitimate and thus their collapsed should have immediately been followed by the restoration of the last legitimate governments in these countries; their monarchies.

  3. Did you say Balkans? I went on a week long group tour of Croatia's Dalmatian coast at the end of August. (Plus two day excursions to Kotor, Montenegro and Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina) Beautiful country and lots of history. And yes, I took a swim in the Adratic Sea!
