Yesterday, September 1, 2009, HRH Princess Maria Cristina of Bourbon-Parma passed away in Vienna, Austria at the age of 84. She was the youngest child of HRH Prince Elias, lawful Duke of Parma from 1950 to 1959 by his wife Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria. She was a granddaughter of the last reigning Duke and Duchess of Parma. The Princess had been suffering from poor health for sometime before her passing and is expected to be buried in the family crypt at Monichkirchen in Austria. The Mad Monarchist extends heartfelt condolences to the members of the House of Bourbon-Parma on this sad occasion.
