Don't we all have them. It's often funny how the greatest criticism of politicians often comes from the politicians themselves, like those famous words of Margaret Thatcher, for example.
I'm afraid I do not recognize the gentleman at the top right. Was he Prime Minister before Mr. Blair? I would assume so, since I see Cameron, Brown, and Blair.
Yes, that's Prime Minister John Major. I thought the last four British PM's a good choice since so many (even in their own parties) have such a low opinion of them for one reason or another. Everyone on the republican side think it would be great to have a president, yet they run into trouble when you start getting specific about who that would be and how divisive the choice of any would be.
Hm. I'ld gladly trade Cameron in for Major today. Major wasn't up to the job, but at least he didn't loathe his own country and its traditions and institutions the way the other three did and do.
There are of course those who would say the same about the others -though Major at least comes from the era when mature adults were the only ones considered to be prime ministerial material. However, the point is that most Labour supporters would despise Major (and "Call me Dave" Cameron) just for being Tories and likewise for the Labour PM's. It stands in stark contrast to the unity that only a non-political head of state can achieve.
Personally I think all politics needs to be scraped, and each country returns to the ways of old where kings ruled supremely. but that is just my opinion
You truly are monarchy's best propagandist--a bizarro Thomas Paine!
