Nor did I till I heard it. The tune must be widely popular as Imperial Germany had a song called "Hail Kaiser to Thee" (rough translation) with the same tune and the royal anthem of the Kingdom of Norway also uses the same tune. The USA even has a patriotic song with the same tune though obviously with a very republican flavor.
I had no idea that this country's national anthem had the same tune as "God Save The King / Queen".
