  1. I don't know, Carla is far to regal to be a simple first lady, she would have made an excellent Princess or Queen.

But alas she is not, see how Democracy ruins everything? It ruins our Lives, our Fortunes, our Culture, and Deprives us of our rightful Rulers.

  2. I hate to nitpick here, but for all Sarkozy's faults it seems disingenious to criticise him for 'not really being French' when we complain about Greek Republicans criticising their Royal family for 'not really being Greek'

    1. That's exactly why I feel free to do so. It illustrates their hypocrisy. Why was an Austrian queen unacceptable but an Italian first lady is? Moreover, the accusations against the Greek Royal Family are without merit, certainly at the point they were driven out. They had been Greek born and raised for several generations.

  3. I do love these little shots at the republican political class, please feel free to increase the volleys, there can be no more a deserving target. Bless you.

  4. I like this one. And supposedly the French are very proud of their culture and xenophobic, so why are their leaders not French?

  5. This proves that in their never ending jouney for "Liberte Egalite Fraternite" your nationality or race makes no difference! Why a person from Senegal or Tunisia is considered as French as someone descended from the House of Orleans! Does this not "warm your heart" as to what "amazing people" the French are!! Why they are all locked in arms singing their La Marseillaise as they enter the Elysian fields of equality! DeGaulle was right! "France would have been great if it were not for the French!"

  6. i was born and raised in France, of Algerian and Egyptian decent.
on paper, France prides itself with the mix of cultures and nationalities even though it's slightly different in everyday-life.
it's quite fine having a president of Hungarian decent in charge, if it was then the whole motto France promotes would no longer make sense.
(great blog by the way, i hope no one will make an anglo-zulu war movie)

  7. That's liberal nationalism for you. A state is not a people.
