Isn't it a sad reflection on the American education system that I never learned about this in any history class in high school or college? I first learned about it when that movie, V for Vendetta, came out several years ago.
It is ignorance, nothing more. I actually find it rather funny that a bunch of godless anarchists now find it fun to dress up as a man who favored a faith-based absolute monarchy policed by the Inquisition.

It is too bad that many of today's youth think Guy Fawkes was more of a hero than a villain.
