That falls under 'Lines I Agree With Whether They Were Said Or Not' category. I prefer loyalty to be personal and not based on an abstract concept or a piece of paper or something. I also liked it when a frustrated Pope Pius IX said, "Tradition?! I AM the tradition!" (when someone argued that papal infallibility was non-traditional at Vatican I)
But doesn't that quotation fall under the postmodern historical category: 'Lines So Cool, We Doubt They Were Actually Said'?
