New Monarchist Party Launched

Ethiopian monarchists have launched a new party to champion the restoration of the Solomonic dynasty called the Kebra Nagast Party. They have also produced an introductory video seen below. The Mad Monarchist wishes them all the best in their efforts to restore the Conquering Lion of Judah and King of Kings of Ethiopia.

  1. I second your post, good sir. I sponsor a child in Ethiopia (through ChildFund Australia), and I hope that Ehtiopia continues to grow and prosper, and the boy's prospects improve dramatically.

  2. I hope so too but for that to happen a change of regime will be an absolute necessity. It pains me that the country once most famous for its Emperor, who was an inspiration to people far beyond the confines of his own nation is now best known to most outsiders as being synonymous with poverty and starvation. Ethiopia was never a very wealthy country but as an empire it was at least a righteously proud country. Today, even at best, they are simply one of the republican many.

  3. In all likelihood, restoration of the Emperor to the throne in Ethiopia is still likely to occur in the future, and I hope it does! What a bright star it shall be in this epoch of misery and doubt.

  4. My greatest hope for a restored Ethiopia (outside the immediate improvements it would bring to the country) would be the symbolism it would provide for Africa at large. The last Ethiopian Emperor was admired far and wide across the continent and a new African emperor might encourage other countries to restore or further elevate their own monarchies. On the more global scene it would probably not have that much significance (Africa tends to be ignored, especially when things are not a disaster). For that, I think a restoration of the Romanovs in Russia or the Bourbons in France would most shake the world. For either of those countries to reject the fruits of revolution would have very far-reaching consequences for the better.

  5. Indeed I agree, the restoration of France would have more effect then the restoration of the Russian Empire, simply because after long last ti will seem like a pin that bursts the biggest boil across the skin of the globe. But a restoration in Russia is still likely, especially with the Romanov Family's increasing interest in returning to their homeland.
