MM Video: Kings & Queens of Italy

  1. Thank you for this. I really enjoyed it, especially (of course!) the pictures of Umberto II and Marie-José. Queen Elena was lovely too, a very good lady from everything I've heard.

  2. Well, my Italian image collection isn't my biggest but I was very surprised at how little I was able to find of Umberto II and Marie-Jose. Usually the more recent the better and royals who are "the last" of anything usually get alot more attention. For those two, I didn't have much to start with and never really found any more. Glad you liked it though.

  3. Would there be any chance of subtitles, to identify individual royals, being added to the images in this video? I recognized the pix of Victor Emmanuel III, but many of the others had me guessing. (Ditto with the recent and equally interesting Mad Monarchist video of the Japanese imperial family, where Hirohito's visage was familiar to me but the others weren't.)

  4. In the case of both videos mentioned they go in chronological order, so; Victor Emmanuel II, Umberto I with the bushy moustache, Victor Emmanuel III and young Umberto II with their wives. On the Japanese video, it is mostly the same, though the first (drawn) image is of the legendery first Emperor Jimmu, as I recall it then goes in order from Emperor Osahito (Komei -1 pic), then Mutsuhito, Yoshihito, Hirohito, Akihito and Crown Prince Naruhito with their wives in most cases. The baby holding the Rising Sun flag is a very small Hirohito.
