The
Radical Royalist provides an informative article on the birthday today of HRH Prince Carl, Duke of Wurttemberg, a former kingdom in Germany near and dear to my heart. Of course we wish the Duke a very happy birthday and hope against hope that he may yet live to see the day that he is rightfully recognized as King Carl II of Wurttemburg.
Monarchist sentiment in Germany has always been strongest in Bavaria and Württemberg. In fact from time to time you'll even hear politicians express crypto-monarchist sentiments.
ReplyDeleteInteresting sidenote: Richard von Weizsäcker (Germany's finest post-war President and a nobleman) was also born near the royal palace I believe. His family had distinguished themselves in service of the kings of Württemberg.
