Americans sincerely beleive that only a Demcoracy is the only Valid form of Governemnt, and all Monarchies are evil tyrannies. Further, they think all peopel want ot liv ein a Democracy. (Yes I know its a Republic, I'm talkign poublic image)

Its generlaly beleived that if a Nation is Democratic, it is Free, and if a Nation is a Monarhcy peple have no rights. Of coruse the COmmunists think the same thing, btu Americans thik COmmunism is the opposite of Demcoracy and a lot of Americans think Communism and Monarhcy are the same thing.

Add to this the theme of the American Revolution, of Noble Patruotic men risign up on the Principles of Liebrty to overthrow an evil and unjust King whose tyrnanies grew daily, and the Human Tendancy to want to replay and recreate the sotry in new settings, and America's Nievetie regardign Vweit Nam becomds undestandable. They wanted to have their own Ideals embodied in a new cast of Characters, with Veit Nam as the Stage. They wanteds ot see the rise of a Gloriosu Republic, overthrowign an unjust and hedonistic Monarhcy and bringing peace and unity to the Nation. They wanted the Time Tested narrative of a COmmon Man rising p to lead his peopel as a humble servant, as they imagine George Wahsignton did. (Washignton was just as ceremonial as Deim, but most Americans do not know this.)

They also assumed that once a Republic of Veit Nam existed soemhow it woudl Magiclaly work like America, wiht peaceful transitionsof Power. Thats becuase they associated the past intriuges withthe system of GOvenment, a Monarhcy, as opposed to CUltural and Histoical COnsiderations.

Americans are so sure of their Narrative and ideology thatthey blidnly see the same story replaying over the globe one day, and prodicing the samr results,a s if all cultures are aboutthe same and all roads lead tot he smae sort of conclusion.

Naturlaly, it never works that way.ZAROVEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17668854596329493360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-53758012076875024042010-11-02T19:28:12.393-05:002010-11-02T19:28:12.393-05:00In a word -no. I mentioned it because his family and Diem himself had not only served the monarchy but had been previously staunchly loyal, Diem himself specially chosen by the Emperor in a time of crisis and that this background should have been taken into account by those officials who expected Diem to be the embodiment of George Washington and a champion of liberal democracy in southeast Asia.MadMonarchisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08083008336883267870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-7501152216784358302010-11-02T17:10:30.374-05:002010-11-02T17:10:30.374-05:00is being from a family that served under a monarch...is being from a family that served under a monarchy really that notable? many of the warlords in Republican china came from military/official families that served under Qing, and they also acted in autocratic, monarchial, ceremonial ways in the territories they controlled, but they aren't noted for doing anything special. British and other westerners characterized the costumes of the warlords as "comic opera" costumes, which resembled military uniforms worn by royals, and that doesn't mean anything specialHubertnoreply@blogger.com
