One of the most famous Greek appearances of the Virgin occurred in Constantinople, where the future Emperor Leo heard the voice of the Mother of God lead him to a spring, from which he drew water to heal a blind man at the gates of the city. To this day a church stands on the site of the Spring, and the Theotokos of the Lifegiving Spring is a popular Greek Icon. Further in Russia there have been several appearances. Even religiously lukewarm Tsars like Alexander II built her Churches, as is evidenced by his Our Lady of Kazan Cathedral. Furthermore, both Byzantium and Russia would not have dreamt of going to war without bearing an Icon of the Panagia on their banners. So crucial was she in Russian life that they have not one, but several Holy Icons and appearances of the Virgin. Our Lady of Kazan, The Joy of All Who Sorrow, The Pechinitsa Mother of God, the Miraculous Tikhon Mother of God, these are just a few examples of the Russian devotion to she who greater the Cherubim, and more glorious beyond compare than the Seraphim.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-41188183533756941442011-08-23T05:18:17.900-05:002011-08-23T05:18:17.900-05:00Hungary is also a Marian country (Great Lady of Hu...Hungary is also a Marian country (Great Lady of Hungarians etc.) and so is France.

http://monarchista.blogspot.com/2011/08/assumptio-beatae-mariae-virginis.htmlPetrus Augustinushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03296159071531531990noreply@blogger.com
