I confess, I like the name quite a bit, especially as Alexander was also included. Louis seems an appropriate nod to the late Lord Mountbatten as well. All in all I'm pleased with the choice.TranquilityAzurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16832547858455710868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-65432571869330381372013-07-24T16:12:49.010-05:002013-07-24T16:12:49.010-05:00I just remember the show was just before "Spe...I just remember the show was just before "Special Report" at 6PM so I do believe it was "The Five." Greg Gutfeld was one of the hosts, was was Eric Rolling (who were the primary antagonists of the bunch). Bob Beckel and Kimberly Guifoyle (especially her) supported the monarchy and the couple in the segment. I'm sure if you look up Monday under the Fox News website, you could probably find it.Giorgiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13280239532906115050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-77305183727263119212013-07-23T16:10:43.312-05:002013-07-23T16:10:43.312-05:00The boy will be named Richard just to really shock...The boy will be named Richard just to really shock everyone. I personally thought James would be objectionable on account of the late James II and respect for the Jacobite legacy but I suppose that is all safely in the past now. Personally I would love to see a Henry IX accede the throne. Part of me is pulling for an Alexander as well. I was expecting to see a lot of attention on it, both by skeptics and admirers. I've found that here in Connecticut a lot of ordinary people were interested in the announcement, and seem to have some affinity for the British Royal Family, both because they like the pomp and circumstance, and also, I believe, because many continue to feel an ancestral connection despite what has been often fed to them with regards to the American Revolution.

I watched a debate on Fox News on the subject. There were a couple of fools uttering the same nonsense about how America is a republic and the Royal Family is expensive, etc, but I also saw some intelligent, hearty defense of the British monarchy and the concept of royalty in general. I was impressed.Giorgiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13280239532906115050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-92109456450467748542013-07-22T17:53:28.369-05:002013-07-22T17:53:28.369-05:00Fantastic news, congratulations to their Royal Hig...Fantastic news, congratulations to their Royal Highnesses! And, of course, any baby would have been a joyful occasion, but I can't help but be a bit more happy that it is a boy. Not that I have anything against girls (actually, I love them), but with all the fuss politicians made about changing the succession to be "fair" and "gender neutral" by getting bills passed in 16 countries around the world as if nothing more important was going on, it's a bit satisfying to see that all that was for nothing. At least this time. The new baby prince probably won't be having children of his own until at least the 2040s.
