I thought I was the only persona who had heard of him! I will have to look for that You tube series as well.

For about a year I've been trying to think of some way to honor him- he's such a hero. maybe a plaque near one of the battle sites or at his home in France. It's also noteworthy that Washington gave him the seeds for his tulip trees which still line the path of his house in France.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04343265852952690810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-32641880197955051032013-12-13T17:20:41.585-06:002013-12-13T17:20:41.585-06:00Hey, I'm doing a YouTube Series on this guy! ...Hey, I'm doing a YouTube Series on this guy! Not only did the French contribution bring much needed supplies and manpower, but it also improved the public perception of the Church in the U.S. Fighting alongside Catholic officers and troops, American Protestants saw that they weren't demonic, liberty-hating bigots.Charlemagnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07935899105940585444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-22630385000960611252010-04-10T15:38:25.863-05:002010-04-10T15:38:25.863-05:00The entire French contribution to the War for Inde...The entire French contribution to the War for Independence is often downplayed -it doesn't fit the favored narrative. It should be though and I tend to bring it up when I can to try to show true blue American types who think all monarchy is bad that without one monarchy in particular (and an absolute one with an established Church at that) there would have been no United States.MadMonarchisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08083008336883267870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-82517715831615315242010-04-10T14:51:36.120-05:002010-04-10T14:51:36.120-05:00Thank you for this post on one of our most forgott...Thank you for this post on one of our most forgotten heroes. Practically no one has heard of the Marquis, even though he arrived in America before Lafayette, and stayed after he had left. A loyal servant of the King, a defender of chartered liberties, subsidiarity and local culture, and an enemy of centralized, beuaracratic tyranny, his name deserves to be more well known.Charlemagnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07935899105940585444noreply@blogger.com
