I agree with you on very little but I find your opinions to be both interesting and consistent. I much prefer your brand of Reactionary Madness to anyone else's, since at least you know what you are talking about and have a sense of humor (a good on I might add.) also we share an interest in flags and history. Just wanted you to know that not every radical who stumbles on your blog is as emotional and incoherent as the comments you just posted. Barring that, rising in society was not impossible before the revolution and the monarchy did not try to keep the colonies from being self-sufficient. Since the revolution, even today, all but 2 or 3 Latin American countries are far from self-sufficient and probably always will be. As for modern monarchs not being interested in having real power, I don't see why you would consider that a bad thing when you think the revolution was a good thing. But, in any event, any look at any of the monarchies in the western world will show that having a monarchy is no block to the common folk having opportunities. They have more than the people who live in a majority of the republics of the world.MadMonarchisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08083008336883267870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-33199982461016484552013-06-05T20:07:22.090-05:002013-06-05T20:07:22.090-05:00Keep up the good work! The fact remains the ex Spanish colonies have been worse off without the monarchy, and would do well to follow the example of countries like Canada and Australia that have maintained a personal union with Great Britain.

Secondly to MM I say keep posting your "fan" mail, its great to see how deep under the skin of our opponents your arguments get, and they serve to encourage your fellow monarchists to keep up the good fight. :)ACMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16862663206650564252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-89085010574361970332013-06-04T16:48:13.936-05:002013-06-04T16:48:13.936-05:00I am a very traditional minded Catholic and would ...I am a very traditional minded Catholic and would be a monarchist were it not for some issues I still haven't found answers to. Maybe the Mad Monarchist can help me out. First, I come from a merchant family who, although of some noble origin (Kingdom of León)is mainly self-made after the fall of the Spanish Empire and I cannot help but feel strange defending the "divine rights" of a monarchy that tried hard to keep the American colonies from being self-sufficient. The republics haven't done much better but at least we can choose our governments. Second, it doesn't seem like even the current monarchies are at all interested in having any real power. They'd rather be public figures and do-gooder celebrities. I can agree with monarchism but I still cannot shake off the feeling that the Revolution opened up opportunities for the common folk that maybe they would never have had.Alejandro Emmanuel Lucianohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15955979343911119214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-73710080519699420432013-06-04T16:28:09.334-05:002013-06-04T16:28:09.334-05:00No, if you read his opening lines he is very, very...No, if you read his opening lines he is very, very adamantly anti-monarchist. That said, it is true that most monarchies in Europe are mostly socialist, but that is all the more reason for me to worry about them. Socialism is all about "equality" and I can't see monarchy long-surviving in a country where socialism prevails. Distributism may be a fine system, I couldn't say, I've never heard a consistent definition of it or a clear example of it ever being tried in current circumstances. Some of what I have heard sounds really good but the transition to that system, well, doesn't sound so good.MadMonarchisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08083008336883267870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-4705463550859924302013-06-04T15:47:49.159-05:002013-06-04T15:47:49.159-05:00The chap making the "reformed socialism"...The chap making the "reformed socialism" argument is not necessarily anti-monarchist, right? There are a few socialist countries in Europe that are under monarchies. I favor distributism to socialism or capitalism, but that's a separate issue from monarchy vs. republicanism.
