People have...It's not interesting but expected. People have no recognition of the significant role a monarch could play in the welfare of their people. Thankfully, the UK seems to be changing a few people's view on this verrry slowly, albeit with a reigning but not ruling Sovereign (although I love that all legal authority does in fact stem from the power of Her Majesty's crown and not some sort of collective sovereignty of the people as most would assume). I for one wish we would see some restorations. It is exceedingly odd for me, as someone who has studied the histories of countries like Austria, Romania, and Bulgaria (just to name three), countries literally born from the toils of their illustrious monarchs, to see many them without a crown. Ah well. 'tis the world we live in.TranquilityAzurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16832547858455710868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-21653942904853227872009-08-25T14:34:19.432-05:002009-08-25T14:34:19.432-05:00Quite sad. It's interesting how there has been...Quite sad. It's interesting how there has been a consistent movement more or less throughout the world to abolish monarchies.Mayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18230268418171628594noreply@blogger.com
