The Dalai Lama has said the same thing, even to the point of saying he's more communist than the Chinese. Now, I don't think he supports anything out of the Communist Manifesto, but I think that there are Soviet era things he may he have liked and that he is well aware of the nostalgia for the USSR (Even if it is misplaced) so I think he says things in a way that resonates the best with people. The problem with this is that also gives the genuine communists some sort of imagined sense of legitimacy, which hurts the cause of restoration in my view. The Pennsylvania Monarchisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13421991176481907074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-8114883700299225242017-08-22T02:46:57.666-05:002017-08-22T02:46:57.666-05:00Personally, I think that all the countries which e...Personally, I think that all the countries which experienced communism are better off in terms of not succumbing to liberalism like the western countries. For example the east is overall more eu sceptic and in fact now Hungary, Poland and Czech are standing strong against the EU even though it's threatening us with more sanctions if we do not allow our culture to be destroyed. Luckily all 3 leaders agreed that there is no price to destroy our culture and the EU woun't be able to force us, short of kicking us out of the EU and invading us, but then some parts of the EU especially Eastern Europe would rebel against such a command and due to NATO every country in NATo which is also every country in the EU would be required to come to our defense, so it would be a very one sided side. Even if all of Western Europe attacked us, Eastern Europe, UK and US would helpAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09220370438302441083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-3770791798795058962017-08-22T00:07:59.569-05:002017-08-22T00:07:59.569-05:00All true. Even as fanatical as Maoist China was, after about 60 million people croaked it, they realized this wasn't working and started to roll back the socialism while still publicly claiming to be faithful to it. After the USSR collapsed, Vietnam had to do the same. As for Putin, what many do not understand is that he is a nationalist and many of his western fans, even those claiming to be nationalists, only show that they don't really understand the term at all. Putin pays lip service to the Soviet era because he is a Russian nationalist and that means he is for the Czar against Napoleon, he is for Stalin against Hitler, he is for Russia, in other words, against whatever enemy no matter the regime.MadMonarchisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08083008336883267870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8783969302315257415.post-70898894032479065812017-08-21T11:04:46.121-05:002017-08-21T11:04:46.121-05:00I honestly don't understand the modern worship...I honestly don't understand the modern worship of communism, since the truer a country tries to stay to communist ideals, the worse off they are. They always have to contradict their own principles in order to function at all. And then of course there are the eye witness accounts, indeed you find more former slaves of the USSR here than you would expect and what I have heard from them is nothing short than a nightmare. But of course no one takes you seriously when you point these things out, because someone who has never left the comfort of their own home and has internet access apparently knows more about life in the USSR than the people who actually lived there! Stuff like this also makes me uncomfortable whenever Putin pays lip service to the USSR even if it is just lip service. Nothing but respect for Hungary's self pride though. The Pennsylvania Monarchisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13421991176481907074noreply@blogger.com
